MIAM

Your initial meeting with your mediator is called a ‘mediation, information and assessment meeting’ or ‘MIAM’. Usually people will attend a MIAM alone although, if the circumstances suit, we can provide a joint MIAM for both you and your former partner.

SESSION

The session, which can be conducted online or in person at one of our mediation suites lasts between 45 and 60 minutes.
During the meeting, you will discuss your circumstances with your mediator and you will both decide the best way to proceed to mediation.

COURT PROCEEDINGS

If you decide that you do not wish to proceed to mediation, or your case is deemed unsuitable, then we will provide you with the requisite forms for you to attend court.
All details you provide during a MIAM are strictly confidential.
